Twali Wrapped - Issue #1
Twali Wrapped - 2.11
To all that are verifiably Twali,
Welcome, welcome, to Twali Wrapped. We know it’s hard to keep up with all the action in Discord, especially when you’re in more than one (or in our sorry case, more like 20). That’s why we have Twali Wrapped, so that you can lay back, relax, and stay up to date.
From Twali Wrapped, you will find a review of the past week’s news — updates from Twali Town Halls, Flux takeaways, latest bounties — alongside ways to get involved, community spotlights, and a glance to the week ahead.
🏠 From Twali Town Hall
Twali made it into the 4th Seed Club Accelerator cohort. Seed Club, a social token incubator, builds and invests in communities, and has previously seen the likes of Eve Wealth, Forefront, Krause House through the accelerator. We’re very grateful for the opportunity and so far it’s been fantastic!!
⚡️ Flux: on the Future of Werk w/ Jess Sloss
Last Wednesday, we interviewed Jess Sloss, founder of Seed Club (and Twali advisor) on operational pain points in DAOs and contributor experiences, specifically investment DAOs. Below are some key takeaways from the conversation. If you’re already verifiably Twali, read the full notes in the Flux section of our Notion.
Key Takeaways:
Decentralized VC: Since tokens unlock the ability for strong communities to be brought to market, VCs are focusing more on building brands, sticking with projects through niche-focused funds, and embracing experimentation.
Organizational Structures: Focus on implementing a working group structure - 6 people may do good work, but 5 people with 1 core leader may do great work. [A simple breakdown -(Research Group, Accelerator Group, Community Group)].
Biggest Problem for Seed Club Early On: Whether to wrangle people together for consensus on initiatives, or just push forward and act with a “better to ask for forgiveness” mindset.

👥 Community Spotlight
Umar Mallam Hassam (@umarmh#5506) is a Chartered Accountant and after working for the likes of Deloitte & BDO, took the risk of quitting his job, and went all in on blockchain. Today he is a freelancer, working as a Community Manager at Request Network, a payment protocol that makes crypto payments compliant, and working with leading blockchain projects such as Sandbox, Aave, Maker DAO, amongst others.
He is also the host and creator of The Accountant Quits (Twitter - @accountantquits), a podcast that speaks about the impact of blockchain in accounting, and is building a community of Web3 accountants. He recently interviewed Twali team member Will White (@WillWhite#5478), where Will shared the story of his career change from Accountant to a Web3 Architect. You can find the episode here.
